When
you work with Gravity Switch, you can rest assured that you're working
with the best. As a small boutique shop, we're nimble and flexible
- able to handle rush jobs and complex projects of all sizes with
minimum hassle and maximum personal service. From our founders and production
team, to our strategic alliances, we pride ourselves on being intensely
creative, professional, fun, reliable, and passionate to the very core.
Jason Mark
Co-founder & Creative Lead
With Jason at the helm, Gravity Switch continues to be the leader in New England at web, iPhone and iPad development. In addition to web design, Jason has written and collaborated on a handful of children's books (both for himself and clients). He has also created ePub books, some of which are currently available in Apple's iBookstore. Jason is currently writing a book for Manning Publishing on Mobile Usability and Design.
Always passionate about teaching, Jason was one of the first dozen professors of website design in the country. He even had students who commuted from California to take his classes!
His wife, Christine, is also super smart, and if you're interested in distributing your book on the Apple iPad you should read her "mini-guide" about your options: http://www.gravityswitch.com/epub
Twice a day you can see Jason on the
bike path between his Northampton office and his Florence home -- even
in winter.

Christine Mark
Co-founder, Graphic Designer, Mom
Christine enjoys vacuuming. She also likes mowing the lawn (because it's like vacuuming—only outside). She likes order in her carpets and lawns, but let her loose on a design project and you'll be blown away by her kick-ass creativity.
Christine balances four kids, her side business as a landlord, and the running of Gravity Switch, and still somehow finds time to excel at the visual stuff. (We're still trying to figure out where she's hiding her six extra arms).
Christine's creativity doesn't stop there. Check out her vocal prowess and storytelling.

Rachael Frank
Lead Strategist
Rachael keeps projects moving forward and clients happy while simultaneously keeping the office hip. She is one of those people who makes everything look easy, even as she single-handedly prepares a tradeshow presentation while launching three new websites and making sure that Jason's shirt matches his pants before he goes into his next meeting.

Ketesah Trudeau
Senior Project Manager
Tess likes to make everybody happy, all the time. Yes, she knows this is literally impossible, but she does her darndest every day by keeping her projects on schedule and on budget, and remembering to communicate well with clients and team members, as well as breathe and stay hydrated.
NOTE: If you give her some marketing jargon to turn into search engine and user friendly web language, she will be your best friend forever.
At the end of the day, she has a lot of happy clients, and that makes her happy. And ready for a nap.

Kate Voss
Project Tamer & Testing Engineer Extraordinaire
As detail oriented as she is cheerful, Kate loves to understand and
explain confusing things in a simple way. She enjoys staying on top of
projects, figuring out complex problems, and making plans (then sticking
to them!)
But don't confuse Kate with Katie, though they are both happy to help.
Kate is the one who BREAKS websites. Don't worry, it's completely
sanctioned, and right in line with our thorough quality assurance
processes.
When not keeping track of the office, Kate loves organizing, alphabetizing, and playing with her kitten, Scotty.

Jessica Shiner
Graphic Designer
A spunky designer with a big brain (not just a big head!), Jessica wears hipster sneakers, enjoys cat videos, reads like it's going out of style, and laughs abundantly. Her degrees in communication and design are the best of friends and there's no project, print or web, that she can't design the hell out of. Jessica plays nicely with others and loves furry animals and chocolate, but then, who doesn't?
P.S. Say her name and title three times fast.

Theresa Carrington
Executive Producer, Graphic Designer, Photographer
After a dozen years playing with top guns like Razorfish and Houghton Mifflin in the Boston market as a Producer, Designer and Project Manager, Theresa left the Fortune 500 world, sold her house, and decided to focus on what is most important to her in life: her love of family, travel and photography. With her husband and 2 year old daughter in tow, she set off for the experience of her life—a year in Europe.
Theresa's creative side captured the trip with an amazing collection of photographs and a weekly travel journal focused on art, food!, history, food!, churches, food!, culture, festivals, oh and did we say food!
...and she did it all within her original budget and timeline!
Sound familiar? If you know Theresa, her love of design and photography is a perfect blend with her business-side. Successful designs and projects make for happy clients and a very happy Theresa. Check out her photography and read some of her travelogues at http://carringtoncreative.com.

Katie Methe
Technical Lead & Drupal Ninja
It doesn't much matter to Katie whether she's done something hundreds of times or never heard its name before—she'll jump into it with an amazing level of positive energy and intensity. She loves meeting new people, and you'll understand this when you talk to her for the first time.
Katie does most of her work in Drupal, finding the right combination of functionality to fit any clients needs. She also specializes in CRM systems and e-Commerce integration.
Katie likes talking to total strangers about how they can use technology, taking hikes with her dog Carter, sushi lunches, and building Lego empires in her basement.
Katie has spoken at DrupalCamp LA and DrupalCamp MA and is a part of the Drupal Chix Organization. Last summer she traveled to London to attend Drupalcon, and she will be off to Denver this January for Drupalcon 2012. Two of Katie's technology articles have been published on sixrevisions.com.

Rob Archer
Senior Programmer, Out-Of-The-Box Thinker
Rob's clothes can be on fire while he's being chased by wild dogs, but if you come up to him and you need "good help now," he's your man. He enjoys a good challenge, and you'll see him on the front lines inspiring us all with new feature ideas, as well as behind the scenes building the smart, secure infrastructure that makes these things "just work."
His programming toolbox includes PHP, ColdFusion, MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Access, Drupal, HTML, XML, Javscript, CSS, some duct tape, and a really big hammer. He knows where to hit your project to make it work (he also knows where to hit the furnace to make it work). He has been doing this for upwards of 13 years now, and we've been lucky enough to have him as a part of the Gravity Switch team for most of that time.
Rob is comfortable pioneering new technologies, developing open source customer resource management tools or even keeping a client's aging AS400 mainframe talking to their website "for a little while longer." He doesn't believe in "the box," preferring to keep an open mind and brainstorm the very best approach for each individual task, and that's why we love him (that and the furnace thing).

Derek Allard
Social Marketing Guru & Website Optimizer
If you live in Massachusetts and care about programming standards, you're probably already on Derek's Twitter feed. He's a frequent paid speaker on topics like Google Adwords, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Media statewide.
Derek owned his own web business (www.tunnel7.com) for 8 years before joining up with Gravity Switch. His skills run the full gamut from usability, to graphic design, to coding, to search engine optimization, to social media. He reads more web books in a month than your web designer likely has in their lifetime. And as if that wasn't enough, he bicycles to work 364 days out of the year. Phew!

Ryan Askew
Cutting Edge Front-End Web Developer
Ryan is a front end web developer focused on perfecting the building blocks of a website. He thinks about advanced page usability, standards compliance, plus seamless integration with the cool new web techniques and trends coming down the pike.
Ryan's favorite tools are XHTML, CSS and Javascript. He also has HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, PHP, Wordpress and Drupal under his belt. Not to mention he has a degree in Teleproduction and Multimedia Technology.
Before joining the Gravity Switch team, Ryan ran his own freelance web development business (www.ryanaskew.com). Take that experience, mix in a decade of customer service work, add a precocious daughter, some alternative rock, X-Men comic books, and stir = you've got Ryan.

Kelly Dwan
Programming Mastermind & All Around Smart Woman
Kelly is smart. Really, really smart. When she's not writing code, she's speaking at WordPress events or (possibly) watching Harry Potter.
If she seems distracted when you first meet her, it's only because her big, nerdy, brain is busily trying to convert your "English" into 1's and 0's.

Rafael Pacheco
Code Artist
Once upon a time in a land far, far away (otherwise known as Venezuela), Raf received a Commodore VIC-20 as a gift from his parents. The rest of the story is a journey full of programming joy. Wherever he goes, Raf makes sure to bring his laptop and guitar–oh, and a towel. His favorite programming languages are C, Javascript and Perl, and he loves making games and teaching stuff (his portfolio includes iOS and Android games as well as the Rockerfer online programming tool for beginners).
When Raf is away from the monitor, he is usually exploring (human) languages, playing music (aka, tormenting housemates) and attempting to improve his drawing skills. We dare you to catch him at a time when he's not spreading happy vibes with a kind word and a charming smile!
