'Faceted Search' is somewhat of a buzz word. But why is it important to you?
Faceted Search
When performing a normal search, you type in a word and get a list of results. It's usually a toss up whether the information you seek will actually be in that list. Think Google search results on a bad day.
With a faceted search, you also get a bunch of categories, or topics, or price points to help you refine your search.
This makes finding information much easier on larger sites. If there are too many results, you can filter by topic. This will make your users happier. They won't have to sift through hundreds of results, many of which aren't applicable.
