Fare Thee Well...

02/16/2010

kelli allard What's a securely employed, anal-retentive, look 80 times before she leaps project manager to do in the middle of a failing job market and a national recession? If you said strike out on her own and delve into the unknown, you're not crazy, you're right. Believe it or not I am no longer working with Gravity Switch as of February 11, 2010. After 9 years I've decided it's time to open myself up to other opportunities that may be waiting for me out there in the big wild world.

I will miss my co-workers immensely. Whether celebrating victories, or commiserating over defeats, I've never felt alone at Gravity Switch. Being part of a team not only means making sacrifices for the greater good, but also reaping rewards that could not be achieved by one person working alone. I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to work with this team.

  • Jason - I will miss being amazed by the speed with which you can turn a goal into an idea, into a concept, into a solution.
  • Tess - I will miss your kindness and patience, these qualities make you an inspiration to others.
  • Rob - I will miss your availability and willingness to jump into anything so as to never leave a co-worker hanging.
  • Erich - I will miss, and have learned so much from your hard work, loyalty, and your ability to see and develop the talents in others and yourself.
  • Christine - I will miss the upbeat attitude and sense of humor you carry with you despite the weather.
  • Theresa - I will miss the confidence and expertise you exude when you are managing projects, and the pleasure you take in the creative process.
  • Derek - I will miss seeing all of your ideas, talents, knowledge and passion come to fruition.
  • Katie - I will miss your willingness to work hard and the energy with which you take on new things.

During my time at here I've also been very fortunate to work with amazing clients. One of the things I've always loved about Gravity Switch is the importance placed upon working with clients with whom we have good chemistry. Because of this I've felt a deep connection with many of my clients. In fact, I count many of my clients among my friends. I hope to continue the relationships we've built even though I'll no longer be managing your project. As sad as I am to say goodbye to you as your project manager, I am certain you will be left in good hands.

Upon leaving Gravity Switch I am planning a short sabbatical during which I will reflect and ponder my next move. I am opening myself up to all possibilities that may present themselves. I don't know where the current will take me, but I know my experiences at Gravity Switch have given me what it takes to get where I'm going.
