We just love it when
a client comes to us with a thorny problem and we're able to solve it
with a cost-effective solution. Heat-fab had an aging, internal order
tracking system that had reached the end of its life and was no longer
being maintained. Their IT Director wanted to provide customers with a
way to access this system online, but couldn't afford to invest the
time or six-figure dollars for a new ERP system right away. Enter
Gravity Switch.
We developed a system that takes all of the
active customer orders in Heat-fab's legacy database and uploads them
to their web server. Part of this solution was creating a schedule to
upload new or changed orders every hour.
System Highlights:
• Orders can have one of three statuses - Unshipped, Partial, or Full

Customers can click on any partial or full order to get additional
information such as when an item was ordered and shipped, the number of
parts ordered and shipped, the part number, PO number, tracking number
and carrier.
• Customers can sort by order date, order number, order status, and PO #.
• The system can show order status by All, Unshipped, Full or Partial, by client.

Each shipped item (full or partial) has a carrier and a tracking
number. If a client clicks on the carrier, they will automatically be
taken to that carrier's order tracking screen so they can immediately
track that particular order.
With this new and affordable
system, customers can log onto Heat-fab's website and check the status
of any of their orders at any time. The end result is a clean, fast and
easy-to-use system that customers, management and sales reps love!
