Gravity Switch announced today that Teaching Medieval Lyric with Modern Technology, a CD-ROM created for Mount Holyoke College
by Gravity Switch, has been selected as a finalist in the Education
category for the 2001 MIMC Awards. Of the 120 plus finalists, only two
are from Western Massachusetts and of those, Gravity Switch is the only
web/interactive design firm to be recognized. "We're proud to be
honored among New England's best," said Gravity Switch principal and
co-founder Christine Henriques.
Held annually by the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council, the MIMC Awards
recognize excellence in the creation of interactive media applications
and products designed, produced or developed in New England. The MIMC
Awards has been cited as one of the most prestigious awards
competitions for New England's interactive industry and one of the
largest technology awards showcases in the country.
Medieval Lyric
is an educational application used by scholars and professors to study
the various disciplines of medieval song. It is one of the richest and
most extensive collections of information in this area of study, where
images, music, transcriptions, translations and expert commentary are
together in one place.
Gravity Switch will be recognized with the other finalists at a gala awards ceremony
attended by approximately 1,200 of the interactive media industry's top
professionals. Winners will be announced at the ceremony in the Boston
Copley Place Marriott on Monday, October 15th, 2001. "New England
produces some of the most impressive interactive products and
applications in the industry today," said Leslie Cushing, executive
director of MIMC. "We are proud of all our finalists for their
excellent work. They are examples of why New England is on the cutting
edge of the Internet industry,"
