"ART is about making something beautiful"
OYSI is about making a tool to share that beauty.
Gravity Switch and Oysi are working together to provide an online resource to document and celebrate indigenous cultures around the world in order to:
empower the indigenous peoples and anyone working in the field firsthand with them to capture video, take photos, and upload them using Oysi's custom iPhone app, without needing heavy equipment or an internet connection;
provide historians, researchers, and universities around the globe with a collaborative cultural documentation resource using the powerful, flexible infrastructure of Drupal;
and allow researchers to automatically tag the location of their photos using iPhones, or geotag items they upload via the computer, to be displayed on an interactive Google map.
Cecilia Vicuña and Jim O'Hern are at the forefront of Oysi, a budding non-profit organization dedicated to preserving indigenous, oral cultures by interactively cataloging their stories online. Check it out at www.oysi.org.

From Concept to Sales in 21 Days: Update!
