The days of having a website to have a website have come and gone. Today's website are dynamic, ever-changing environments centered around objectives and goals. But how do you know if you are meeting those goals? How do you know what should be changed on your website?

Google Analytics is one of the most powerful website performance systems today. Because Google Analytics is based on the web, users can access it from almost anywhere. Google Analytics can open businesses up to an incredible amount of information about site viewers and consumer behavior.

Some of the most useful pieces of information collected are:

  • Most visited pages
  • Least visited pages
  • Where your visitors are located
  • How visitors are finding your website
  • Your bounce rate (how many people visit and immediately leave)
  • Your best referrers

Lots of businesses have Google Analytics installed on their website but rarely look at the data being gathered or know how to properly use the program to its full potential. For SHAME! The data gathered by Google Analytics is invaluable when considering any changes to your website.

Workshop attendees will learn:

  • How Google Analytics works (a basic overview)
  • How to set up a Google Analytics account for a website
  • How to analyze visitor behavior with the most popular and useful tools available in Analytics
  • How to control information received in Analytics by date and other variables
  • How to apply Google Analytics data and skills to website marketing

All of this information can then be used to adapt your website to better achieve your goals and help with determining if your marketing dollars are well spent.

Tips from an industry expert on using search engines and paid AdWords to increase traffic to your website

Date/Time: Thursday, April 8th (10:00AM)
Location: Innovative Business Solutions map

Build it and they will come. If only it were true! The reality is that you need to work to bring people to your website.

The importance of keywords and content is forgotten by many. These are valuable pieces of information picked up and analyzed by search engines every minute. The keywords you use can have a large impact on decreased or increased traffic to your site.

Paid advertising with Facebook is an increasing trend for websites. The cost is lower than other paid advertising options and the amount of views is usually larger (and for a longer period of time).

In this workshop we will cover both organic (non-paid) search engine strategies as well as paid options that can help to attract visitors to your website.

Among the items to discuss are:

  • Defining relevant keywords to target
  • The importance of website content
  • Building inbound links to your website
  • Paid advertising with Google AdWords
  • Paid advertising with Facebook

All of these can be used to attract visitors to your website. You'll also learn best practices to keep your budgets under control and techniques to maximize your organic search engine results.  All of these items can be helpful for "tightening the spending belt."

At the rate social media is growing some business simply can't afford to ignore it. The potential traffic that can be driven to a site by social media is massive. Not only is social media a great way to increase your site views and spread of information, it's also a great way to build brand loyalty..if you use it correctly!

Facebook currently holds 200 million active members and is predicted to be at 500,000 million members by 2011. More than half of those active members log in DAILY for an average time of 20 minutes (which is a huge captive time span!)

On Twitter, traffic has grown over 600% in the past 12 months. An estimated 5-10 thousand new accounts are opened per day. And yet, even with its 140-character simplicity, Twitter can be infinitely more complex than Facebook to understand how to use effectively. There's a right way and a wrong way and you need to know the difference.

Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites are extremely powerful marketing tools that (when used correctly) can cause large growth In your business.

Social media is all the rage today. Seemingly everyone (and more and more businesses) are on social media channels, but are they doing it well? In this workshop we will discuss best practices for social media marketing and help you determine what social media channels are right for you and your business.
